2017年苹果产品发布会上发布了 iPhone X，不过跟引起我注意的是发布会前面的一段录音，是乔布斯生前的一段录音。原文如下：
There’s lots of ways to be as a person, and some people express their deep appreciation in different ways. But one of the ways that I believe people express their appreciation to the rest of humanity is to make something wonderful and put it out there. And you never meet the people, you never shake their hands, you never hear their story or tell yours. But somehow in the act of making something with a great deal of care and love, something’s transmitted there. And it’s a way of expressing to the rest of our species, our deep appreciation. So we need to be true to who we are, and remember what’s really important to us. That’s what’s going to keep Apple, Apple, as if we keep us, us.
播客「一天世界」的主播李如一翻译了这段录音，发布在微博上引起了大家的热议：

好多网友表示「用力过猛」、「真车祸」，甚至有偏激的网友表示「什么垃圾玩意，林檎都来了，日文比中文要高级？真恶心」。
翻译是一种再创造。这段译文其实已经是李次创造过的一段文字。但其实普罗大众对于翻译的理解还只是一个「传达意思的工具」。个人认为是这种认知的错位造成了这个冲突。
自工具角度，可试译如下：
人与人的生活方式千差万别，表达感恩的方式也是多种多样。但我认为，做出一件绝妙的东西，才是向这个世界表达感恩的最最深刻的方式。你没见过那些人，没跟他们握过手，你没听过他们的故事，也没跟他们讲过自己的经历，但就是通过你倾注心血做出的这样一件东西，你传达给了他们一些东西。这是最深刻的感激他人的方式。我们需要真诚地面对自我，永远记住对自己最重要的东西是什么。苹果之所以是苹果，我们之所以是我们，正在于此。
